As Canadians, we’re sometimes guilty of looking over the border, imagining ourselves to be far removed from the scandals, spiritual abuses and celebrity status our Christian brothers and sisters to the south grapple with - but are we immune? As those who desire to lead in the way of Jesus, what can we learn from this story?
Join us for a three-week, interactive live conversation with Canadian academics Jamie Robertson and Marilyn Draper. Together, we'll discover takeaways from this complicated narrative and tackle questions like: why do we, as Canadians, care so much about the stories that emerge from American Evangelicalism? Are we that different? Do stories like these offer opportunities for healthy introspection and personal transformation as we lead faith communities? What can we learn from both toxic leadership and toxic church cultures? How can that inform us as we seek to create or contribute to building communities of goodness and peace? Can stories like this invoke substantive change in evangelical church culture and practices?
